Why be 'Static' when you can be 'Dynamic'!
Traditional website design has its content (text and images) hard coded into each page using HTML programming language. The source code is the same every time a page is downloaded and the site is referred to as 'Static'.
Using 'Dynamic' web site design we have the ability to change the content or appearance of a web page before it's downloaded to your computer. This is known as 'server-side' technology and the programming language we choose to use is PHP, as this is the Web's most widely available and supported server-side language.
I always say, keep a diary and some day it'll keep you.
Perhaps the best known example of a dynamic website is Amazon. Although most of the page structure has the same feel, the content changes completely for every individual, making their visit more personal and 'Dynamic!'
Take a look at the quotation we have placed on the right hand side of the page. We could have easily hard coded this quote directly into the page, but each time you return, if it remained the same it would become very dull. Refresh this page in your browser a few times and see what happens. This is what we mean by 'Dynamic' content.
What Dragon Design can do for you.
We create 'Dynamic' websites using MySQL database and PHP language that extracts the page content from numerous database tables and displays it in a structured page on the website. We can use this method to style the webpage, (fonts, margins, colours, images, etc) change the content, create controlled access systems, photo galleries, blogs, live news feeds and a whole host of interactive information.
We have used a PHP include script to dynamically insert this section of text, which it has extracted from the contents of a simple text file, created in notepad. Should your site require regular updates we can construct a user friendly interface, which allows you to edit the content of your website, without the need to learn complex programming languages.
The purpose of this website is to showcase just a selection of what can be achieved using 'Dynamic' content. Please explore all the pages and maybe take a few valuable moments to send us some feedback. Our Blog gives further information on the key elements used to bring you this 'Dynamic' experience.
The web is a brilliant illusion. When you visit a well designed website, you get a great feeling of continuity, as though you're flicking through the pages of a book or magazine. Everything fits together as a coherent entity.
The reality is quite different.
